I will disclose I am a bit of a neat freak, and I don’t enjoy staying in hotel rooms because I don’t trust how clean everything is. When I purchased my home I knew that the previous owners didn’t scrub or clean anything before moving out. I am guessing they took a broom and only did a quick sweep, and that is it. Before I moved all my stuff in, I changed all that I was able to. I purchased myself new, clean light fixtures. I painted over the gross walls and changed to a new toilet. I even purchased a new sink, door handles, cabinet knobs and switch plates, adding new Heating, Ventilation, and A/C vent covers was a must as well. After that, I cleaned everything that was not able to be removed. The floors and ceilings were washed. I cleaned all the countertops plus inside the kitchen cupboards. The whole place smelled clean of bleach when I was done. The last step was I called in my local HVAC business to do their thing. I got the inside of the HVAC system cleaned, oiled and tightened. I didn’t want someone else’s hair, dirt and dust in my system. I also spruing for HVAC duct cleaning, and outdoor elements like sticks, leaves and dirt can get in there. Also indoor elements, like pet fur, hair plus dust mites gather in there. Getting the air ducts cleaned made me feel a whole lot better about moving in all my stuff. Once I knew that my Heating, Ventilation, and A/C was clean, then I could move everything in my new home. I now think all the dirt is my own dirt.
The HVAC company removed all the dirt
I will disclose I am a bit of a neat freak.
That’s what everyone tells me.
I don’t even like staying in hotel rooms because I don’t trust how clean everything is. When I bought my home I knew that the previous owners didn’t clean before moving out. I am guessing they took a broom and just did a quick sweep, that is it. Before I moved all our stuff in I replaced anything that I was able to. I bought myself new, clean light fixtures. I painted over their gross walls and installed a new toilet. I even bought a new sink, door handles, cupboard knobs and switch plates. Adding new Heating and A/C vent covers was a must as well. After that, I cleaned everything that was not able to be removed. The floors and ceilings were washed. I cleaned all the countertops and inside the kitchen cupboards. The whole house smelled clean like bleach when I was done. The last step was I called in our local Heating and A/C company to do their thing. I got the inside of the Heating plus A/C system cleaned, oiled, and tightened. I didn’t want someone else’s hair, dirt plus dust in our system. I am also getting a HVAC duct cleaning; Outdoor elements such as sticks, leaves and dirt can get in there. Also indoor elements appreciate pet fur, hair and dust mites gather in there. Getting the HVAC ducts cleaned made me feel more comfortable about moving in all our stuff. Once I knew that our Heating plus A/C and air quality was clean, then we moved our belongings in. I now know all the dirt is our own dirt and our home is clean.
The dirt inside is now only my dirt
I will admit I am a bit of a neat freak.
I don’t really enjoy staying in hotel rooms because I don’t trust how clean everything is! When I bought my condo I knew that the previous owners didn’t clean before moving out.
I am guessing they took a broom and did a quick sweep and that’s it. Before I moved all my stuff in, I replaced everything that I possibly could. I bought myself new, clean light fixtures. I painted over the gross walls and even replaced the toilet. I even bought a new sink, door handles, cabinet knobs and switch plates. Adding new Heating and Air Conditioning vent covers was a must as well. After that, I cleaned everything that was not able to be detached. The floors and ceilings were washed. I cleaned all the countertops and inside the kitchen cupboards. The whole house smelled like bleach when I was done. The last step was I called in my local Heating and Air Conditioning business to do their thing. I got the inside of the Heating and Air Conditioning system cleaned, oiled and tightened. I didn’t want someone else’s hair, dirt and dust in my system. I also decided to have a HVAC duct cleaning. Outdoor elements, like sticks, leaves and dirt can get in there. Also, indoor elements love pet fur, hair and dust mites gather in there. Getting the air ducts cleaned made me feel better about moving in all my stuff. Once I knew that my Heating and Air Conditioning and indoor air conditions were clean, then I moved all of my belongings and furniture in. I now know all the dirt in the house is my own dirt and no one else’s.
I know im a neat freak
I will confess I am a bit of a neat freak.
I don’t like staying in hotel rooms because I don’t trust how clean everything actually is.
When I bought our condo I knew that the previous owners didn’t clean anything at all before moving out. I am guessing they took a broom and did a quick sweep, that is it. Before I moved all our stuff in I replaced all that I was able to. I bought myself new, clean light fixtures. I painted over their gross walls and changed to a new toilet. I even bought a new sink, door handles, cabinet knobs and switch plates. I also added new Heating and A/C vent covers. After that, I cleaned everything that was not able to be replaced. The floors and ceilings were washed. I cleaned all the countertops and inside the dining room cupboards. The whole house smelled like bleach when I was done. The last step was I called in our local Heating and A/C supplier to do their thing. I got the inside of the Heating and A/C system cleaned, oiled and tightened. I didn’t want someone else’s hair, dirt and dust in our system. I also decided to even get my ducts cleaned. Outdoor elements like sticks, leaves and dirt can get in there. Also indoor elements like pet fur, hair and dust mites gather in there. Getting the HVAC ducts cleaned made me feel more at ease about moving in all our stuff. Once I knew that our Heating and A/C and indoor air quality was clean, we started moving everything in. I now know all the dirt is our own dirt.
Don’t want other people’s dirt in my house

Is there a difference in the heat from a furnace and a heat pump?
The other day during dinner, my neighbor and I had a debate about whether it is better or smarter to replace the old AC and boiler with a modified unit that provides both warming and cooling services.
I was for the option of purchasing the latter while my neighbor who had worked in the HVAC industry for decades opted for replacing the old units with new ones of the same model. He gave a few reasons such as the high price of heat pump install and it may not be ideal for your home. The heat produced by a furnace is the same as the heat produced by a ductless heat pump. The speed of providing quality heating is, however, different. An electric furnace can maintain a higher level of heat and will raise the temperature faster than a pump. This is the reason why I, together with many more homeowners, feel like the heat is different. Some heating technicians recommend keeping the central heating running for longer. Gas fireplaces can work in cold weather but it uses a lot of energy to draw the cold air from outside. A zone control unit will use more energy when it is cold. An energy saving tip to help reduce the utility bill is to keep the temperature low when I am not in the house. A dual fuel system is a good option for this as I can switch between the propellants to provide adequate heating services. I saw a sensible point to what my neighbor was saying and now I had finally made a decision to find a local contractor to replace the aged fireplace with a multi-split unit. Now I understand why it is always good to have multiple sources when carrying out research.
The correct way of commissioning a furnace
Each season sees an influx of calls from customers having issues with their HVAC systems. Most times it is usually a malfunction of some sort but other times it can be because the boiler was not properly commissioned. Commissioning a HVAC system involves setting the things properly after installation is complete and after the unit is running. It is possible to fit in a system without ensuring it performs well in maintaining warm temperatures during the coldest season as well as operating optimally. There are few steps involved in commissioning a furnace. The first step is clocking the meter. As an experienced heating technician, understand that setting the meter ensures that the flame enters the electric furnace just at the right amount. The second step is to perform a combustion analysis on the central heating to ensure that it is burning gas safely and efficiently. The next step only applies to vented systems like the dual fuel system and not a ductless heat pump as it involves checking for blockages in the vents. One energy saving tip is when the vents are free from any blockage, the zone control unit uses little energy to provide quality heating. I often advise my team of local contractors that performing the next step ensures the longevity of the unit and reduces heating service calls. After completing the heat pump install, we usually test the temperature rise to ensure the unit is not overheating the customer’s home. The final step involves a combination of other little steps like ensuring the gas shutoff valve on the gas fireplace is turned off. If not turned off, it can cause the fireplace to blow up. If you have uneven temperatures in your home, the most probable reason is the boiler was not properly commission
Be sure A/C is ready for the summer workout
The heat pump is officially done with anymore heating for the year.
We even had to have the cooling side of the heat pump on just a few days ago.
Once this happens, in my mind we are very much into the midst of spring and winter weather is behind us. And, it also designates a time of year when I have the HVAC company out to do some air conditioning service. It’s important that I get an air conditioner tune up prior to the summer settling in. While we have a mild winter that the heat pump does a fine job of heating through. The summer cooling load is far more intense. So, it’s a very important thing to be sure the air conditioning is up to the task. That’s why we have the HVAC technician out to be sure the a/c is serviced and in great shape. I don’t like the idea of not being confident that the HVAC cooling could fail during the summer. Our HVAC company is terrific. But they could also be under such demand that we might have to wait to get the air conditioning repair we need during the worst of summer. And believe me, you don’t want to go a few days during the summer without air conditioning in this region. Plus, having the air conditioning tune-up means the heat pump will be running at its most efficient during the summer. This is another key element for us. Because when the heat pump is running at its most efficient, that means cooling cost savings for me.
Better health with better HVAC
I honestly had no idea just how important indoor air quality is to our health.
In retrospect, this seems like a terrible oversight by me.
When you really think about it, it’s much like the food we eat. The better the food, the better it is for our health. The same thing applies with indoor air quality. And quality heating and air can vastly improve the air inside your house. This way, what you are breathing in is helpful and not actively attacking your immune system. Indoor air quality is something that came to light for me due to the pandemic. I was forced to work from inside my well air conditioned home for the past year. This was quite a change for me but one that I ultimately became accustomed to. However, working from inside the HVAC all day really got me to thinking. I wondered if perhaps there were more I could do to breathe healthier air. So I did a bit of research. This research showed me that I simply had to upgrade the HVAC in order to improve the indoor air quality. What I found out was that bad indoor air quality is actually responsible for a near constant attack on our respiratory system. The airborne contaminants force our immune response to be engaged far too much which in turns drags the immune system down. The changes were relatively easy to make. I started by replacing the old HVAC air filters with the HEPA type air filter. These remove over 99 percent of allergens and airborne contaminants. Lastly, I also installed whole home air purification system which actively eliminates airborne contaminants.
I have to crank the A/C system when I’m playing VR games
When I first got into virtual reality, I had quite an experience.
I actually thought it was amazing seeing the world inside a game, but I also started feeling really overheated and sweaty.
I turned up the air conditioning system to provide more cooling relief. Fortunately, I have a smart thermostat with voice commands, so I can tell the thermostat what the temperature control settings need to be. I kept having to change the temperature control settings as I was playing the game. It was exciting, but it was making me sweat way too much. I sort of had the feeling like I was really there in the jungle fighting bad guys with machine guns. It was pretty intense, but after awhile I started to feel sick and dizzy. I learned later on from a friend that you have to get into the VR experience a little amount at a time. Some people get motion sickness, some people get sweaty, and some people aren’t phased in the least. I wish I wasn’t phased because it was really fun. I find that the air conditioning helps a lot though, but I really had to crank it. I think that if I play these VR games all the time with the A/C cranked so much, I’m going to have some seriously expensive energy bills. I guess I can think about upgrading my HVAC system to HVAC zone control, but that would also be expensive. At least I would be able to focus the cooling energy in my room though while I’m playing the game!
