Recently when the HVAC system at the shop was nearing the end of its life, I decided to ask my team of HVAC professionals what kind of HVAC they would like to upgrade to.
Everybody was pleased that they were able to provide their opinion as to what the best HVAC upgrade would be for us.
It’s one thing to provide an HVAC upgrade for customers, but to be able to consider what you want in your workplace environment is a pretty cool thing. Some workers said we should get a more energy efficient central HVAC unit installed as the ductwork was in great shape and everything. A bunch of guys were saying how we really needed to have a ductless mini split system with multiple zones. With that we would be able to save a lot on the energy bills at the HVAC shop and there could be customized temperature control settings in every section of the building. My boss actually loved the sound of getting a ductless mini split system hooked up. I had to voice my opinion though and that was to get a geothermal heat pump. I said with certain applications, we could even have the heat pump providing power to the shop instead of having solar panels. There are advanced heat pump systems that are able to generate electricity and it’s a beautiful thing, just like investing in solar panels. The boss did love the sound of the geothermal heat pump system, but ultimately he decided it would be best to go for the ductless mini split set up.
