I have only been living in our new condo for a couple months and I am already overwhelmed. There are so many things that I want to do in this home. However, I want to renovate our kitchen to get more space. I want both bathrooms to have a current tub as well as fixtures. I also want to change all the light fixtures and add more lights in the kitchen. Those are legitimately substantial projects though and honestly they won't happen for a while. Right now I have to be content with doing little things, but small touches like painting, adding new door handles as well as switch plates have legitimately made a difference! New section rugs can bring out colors as well as make a room so much more fun. I have painted pots and put cute things in them. I also have added a ton of pictures to the walls. I recently did a small, but greater replacement as well. I wanted to change the basic, dial temperature control in the hallway. My whole hallway is newly redone. I got a friend of mine to add recessed lighting as well as a better smoke detector. I painted all the doors, the ceiling, and the walls. Everything is white, grey or silver. The beige temperature control stood out like a sore thumb. I immediately went online and found a silver smart temperature control. I purchased it and then started to panic when it came in, and wondered if I even installed a temperature control. I found that I do have those skills. I had to watch some online videos as well as make a few mistakes, but now I have a new thermostat.

I quickly went online and found a silver surround smart control unit

I have only been residing in my permanent home for a few weeks and I am already overwhelmed. There are so many things that I want to do in the space. I want to renovate our family room to get more space. I want both of my bathrooms to have new tubs and fixtures. I also want to change all the light fixtures and add more lights in the living room. Those are entirely giant projects though and honestly not going to happen for a while. Right now, I have to be pleased with doing little things. Small touches like painting, replacement of door handles and switch plates have entirely made a difference. However, new area rugs can bring out colors and make a room so much more fun. I have painted pots and put cute things in them. I also have added a ton of pictures to the place. I recently did a larger upgrade. I wanted to change the basic, dial control unit in the hallway. My whole hallway is newly updated. I got a friend of mine to add recessed lighting and a better smoke detector. I painted all the doors, the ceiling and the walls! Everything is white, grey or silver. The beige control unit stood out like a sore thumb. I quickly went online and found a silver surround smart control unit. I bought it and then started to panic when it came in, because I don’t know how to install a control unit? I found that I do have those skills. I had to watch some online videos and make a few mistakes, however now I have a current control unit.

Making small updates

I have only been living in my forever home for about three months and I am already overwhelmed.

  • There are so many things that I want to do in the space.

I want to renovate my kitchen to get more space. I want both bathrooms to have a new tub and fixtures. I also want to change all the light fixtures and add more lights in the living room. Those are really big projects though and probably not going to happen for a while. Right now I have to be content with doing little things. Small touches like painting, adding new door handles and switch plates have really made a difference. New area rugs can bring out colors and make a room so much more fun. I have painted pots and put cute things in them. I also have added a ton of pictures to the place. I recently did a small, but larger update. I wanted to change the basic, dial thermostat in the hallway. My whole hallway is modern. I got a friend of mine to add recessed lighting and a better fire detector. I painted all the doors, the ceiling and the walls. Everything is white, grey or silver. The beige thermostat stood out like a sore thumb. I immediately went online and found a silver surround smart thermostat. I purchased it and then started to panic when it came in. Can I install a thermostat? I found that I do have those skills. New home cleaning

I will disclose I am a bit of a neat freak, and I don’t enjoy staying in hotel rooms because I don’t trust how clean everything is. When I purchased my home I knew that the previous owners didn’t scrub or clean anything before moving out. I am guessing they took a broom and only did a quick sweep, and that is it. Before I moved all my stuff in, I changed all that I was able to. I purchased myself new, clean light fixtures. I painted over the gross walls and changed to a new toilet. I even purchased a new sink, door handles, cabinet knobs and switch plates, adding new Heating, Ventilation, and A/C vent covers was a must as well. After that, I cleaned everything that was not able to be removed. The floors and ceilings were washed. I cleaned all the countertops plus inside the kitchen cupboards. The whole place smelled clean of bleach when I was done. The last step was I called in my local HVAC business to do their thing. I got the inside of the HVAC system cleaned, oiled and tightened. I didn’t want someone else’s hair, dirt and dust in my system. I also spruing for HVAC duct cleaning, and outdoor elements like sticks, leaves and dirt can get in there. Also indoor elements, like pet fur, hair plus dust mites gather in there. Getting the air ducts cleaned made me feel a whole lot better about moving in all my stuff. Once I knew that my Heating, Ventilation, and A/C was clean, then I could move everything in my new home. I now think all the dirt is my own dirt.

Adding new Heating and Air Conditioning vent covers was a must as well. After that, I cleaned everything that was not able to be detached. The floors and ceilings were washed. The last step was I called in my local Heating and Air Conditioning business to do their thing. I got the inside of the Heating and Air Conditioning system cleaned, oiled and tightened. I didn’t want someone else’s hair, dirt and dust in my system. I also decided to have a HVAC duct cleaning. Outdoor elements, like sticks, leaves and dirt can get in there.
