The heat is really something in this region.
That’s why I love this time of year.
The winter here is full of sun and good outside temperatures. I try to spend as much time as I can outside. It’s just so nice to be able to go play golf or go for a hike and not be soaked in sweat afterward. So, I try to get the most of the outside stuff as I can during this time of year. However, I know the change is coming. As a matter of fact, the HVAC professional just came out to do the annual preventive maintenance and tune up. That’s one of those seasonal flags just like March Madness that reminds me the winter weather is about to be a memory. But, I feel good about going into the summer this year as I’ve made some changes with regard to the HVAC. This summer, we will have a smart thermostat that will be in charge of the HVAC output. It’s something that I had been wanting to do for several years now. I’m looking forward to now having to worry all the time whether or not I remembered to set the thermostat. It’ll take care of it for me. I also made sure that our air was more healthy this summer. While the HVAC cooling does a fine job of balancing the humidity to ensure mold isn’t in the air, I wanted to go a step further. I replaced the HVAC air filters with HEPA type air filters. These things will catch over 99 percent of allergens and other airborne contaminants. So we will have cool, healthy air along with some HVAC savings this summer.
